Anonymous asked: Do you have a list of organizations such as the SPLC that have put GG on a hategroup watch list?

Ah, yes the SPLC aka. the Southern Poverty Law Center. I think it’s amazing a center dedicated (assumedly) to poor redneck lawyers is the gospel for designating something as a hate group. Much respect to them for doing this despite their financial situation behind the poverty line.

For those who don’t know the SPLC manages a hate group list or a hate map that designates all the organizations that are hate groups in the U.S. It is an extremely handy resource if you want to group a pastor who doesn’t agree in gay marriage with the KKK. It’s also pretty handy if people need a list of people to try and murder.

You would have seen many of us anti-gamergate people saying GamerGate is a hate group because the SPLC said so. It is our definitive proof that GamerGate is an official hate group. “The SPLC designates GamerGate as a hate group so it must be true” we cry. So I was very pleased to get your question so I could demonstrate this fact. So first I looked here and then I looked here but I couldn’t find GamerGate anywhere! I panicked, “this can’t be!” I thought, “but I’ve been telling people it’s a hate group for so long! This was my proof!”.

Apparently this is all there is. A blog entry that links to an article about the Guardian. By that logic going by this post we have to list Google as a hate group as they had an article on the same blog.

I have to say, I’m devastated. How could the SPLC not put GamerGate on the same list as the KKK and the Aryan Brotherhood? Could they really consider that GamerGate isn’t a hate group? If they do (like we’ve been saying they do) then why haven’t they registered GamerGate as one? So to answer your question, “No. I don’t have a list of organizations like the SPLC that have put GamerGate on a hate watch list as if the SPLC hasn’t put them on the list then you can forget about other organizations”.
